Cherry Grove, North Myrtle Beach and Grand Strand area of South Carolina feel few effects of Earl
Although red flags flew from every lifeguard stand from Cherry Grove to Georgetown, the North Myrtle Beach and Grand Strand Area saw few other signs that a major category 3 hurricane was just a couple hundred miles off-shore. The shrill tone of lifeguard horns could constantly be heard as brave or foolish (depending on the individual's perspective) adventurers waded or paddled into the hard pounding waves.
